Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Longevity Angels LLC, doing business as Longevity Angels ("Longevity Angels," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and discloses information about you when you visit thelongevityangels.com (the "Site"), join our investor network, or otherwise communicate with us.
Longevity Angels is an investor network that provides accredited investors with access to special purpose vehicles ("SPVs") formed to invest in early-stage biotechnology and longevity companies. Because of the nature of that activity, some of the information we collect is financial and sensitive, and some of it we are required to retain and disclose under securities laws. This policy describes both.
By using the Site or submitting information to us, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or submit information to us.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide directly
- Contact and identity information — name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, and, where applicable, the name and jurisdiction of an entity through which you invest.
- Investor qualification information — responses to our intake and accreditation questionnaires, including representations about your income, net worth, professional certifications, investment experience, and investment objectives. Where an offering is conducted under Rule 506(c) of Regulation D, this may also include documentation submitted to verify accredited investor status, or a written confirmation from your attorney, CPA, registered investment adviser, or broker-dealer.
- Communications — the contents of emails, forms, calls, and meetings between you and our team, including questions you ask about portfolio companies.
- Marketing preferences — whether you have subscribed to our mailing list and your subsequent choices about receiving communications.
1.2 Information collected automatically
The Site is hosted on Squarespace, which collects certain information automatically when you visit, including:
- IP address and approximate geographic location derived from it;
- browser type, operating system, device type, and screen settings;
- pages viewed, time spent on pages, links clicked, and the referring website or search term that brought you to the Site;
- date and time of your visit.
We use this information in aggregate to understand how the Site is used and to improve it. Squarespace's own handling of this information is governed by the Squarespace Privacy Policy.
1.3 Cookies and similar technologies
The Site uses cookies — small text files stored on your device. We use:
- Strictly necessary cookies, which are required for the Site to function, remember your session, and provide security;
- Analytics cookies, which are set by Squarespace Analytics to measure Site traffic and usage patterns.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking technologies on the Site.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Site from working. Because we do not track visitors across third-party websites, we do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals; we do honor recognized opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control where required by law.
1.4 Information we do not intentionally collect through the Site
We do not collect payment card numbers, bank account numbers, Social Security numbers, or wire instructions through this Site. Subscription documents, tax forms, and funding for any Longevity Angels offering are handled on Sydecar, a third-party platform with its own privacy practices (see Section 3). Please do not send us financial account information or government identifiers by unencrypted email.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- respond to your inquiries and communicate with you about Longevity Angels;
- establish and maintain a substantive relationship with you, evaluate your eligibility to participate in our offerings, and determine whether and when it is appropriate to share information about a particular opportunity with you;
- confirm or verify your status as an accredited investor as required by Rule 501(a) and, for offerings conducted under Rule 506(c), Rule 506(c)(2)(ii) of Regulation D;
- administer SPVs in which you invest, including subscription processing, capital calls, distributions, annual reporting, Schedule K-1s, and regulatory filings;
- send you newsletters, updates, and — where permitted and appropriate — information about opportunities;
- operate, secure, analyze, and improve the Site;
- comply with our legal, regulatory, tax, anti-money-laundering, and recordkeeping obligations, and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies to you, our legal bases for processing are: performance of a contract or steps taken at your request prior to entering one; compliance with a legal obligation; your consent (which you may withdraw at any time, for example by unsubscribing); and our legitimate interests in operating and securing our business, communicating with investors, and preventing fraud.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. We disclose information only as follows:
| Recipient | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Sydecar | Formation and administration of SPVs, subscription documents, accreditation checks, capital movement, investor dashboards, tax documents, and compliance filings. Your relationship with Sydecar is governed by Sydecar's own Privacy Notice and Terms of Service. |
| Squarespace | Website hosting, form submissions, and analytics. |
| Email and communication providers | Delivery of newsletters and investor correspondence. |
| Professional advisers | Our attorneys, accountants, fund administrators, and auditors, in connection with structuring, tax, and compliance work. |
| Portfolio companies and co-investors | Where required to complete an investment — for example, disclosure of an SPV's beneficial owners to a portfolio company or its counsel, or inclusion on a cap table. |
| Regulators and authorities | The SEC, state securities regulators, tax authorities, courts, and law enforcement, where required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect our rights. |
| Successors | A counterparty in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to this policy. |
We may also share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
4. Confidentiality of Offering Materials
Information we share with you about a prospective or current investment — including diligence materials, financial information, and terms — is confidential and is provided on the condition that you keep it confidential and use it solely to evaluate your own participation. Your obligations in this regard are set out in our Terms of Service and in the governing documents of each SPV.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Because Longevity Angels organizes securities offerings, certain records — including accreditation representations and verification materials, subscription documents, investor communications, and transaction records — must be retained for extended periods to satisfy securities, tax, and anti-money-laundering requirements, and may be retained after your investment ends or you leave the network. Where information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.
6. Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. The Site is served over TLS encryption. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Be alert to fraudulent emails: we will never send you wire instructions by email or ask you to change payment details by email. Confirm any funding instruction directly through Sydecar or by telephone with a person you know at Longevity Angels.
7. Your Choices and Rights
7.1 Everyone
- Email. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any message or by contacting us. We may still send you administrative or legally required communications about an investment you hold.
- Access and correction. You may ask us to review, correct, or update the information we hold about you.
- Leaving the network. You may ask us to remove you from our investor list at any time.
7.2 U.S. state privacy rights
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have the right to: confirm whether we process their personal information and access it; correct inaccuracies; request deletion; obtain a portable copy; and opt out of sale, targeted advertising, or profiling with legal effects. As noted above, we do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or engage in such profiling.
California residents may also request disclosure of the categories of personal information collected, the sources, the business purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom it was disclosed in the preceding 12 months — all of which are described in Sections 1 through 3. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. You may use an authorized agent, and we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity and the agent's authority before acting on a request. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our response; we will respond to appeals within the timeframe required by applicable law.
7.3 EU, UK, and other international users
Longevity Angels is based in the United States, and information you provide is processed and stored in the United States, which may not offer the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Our offerings are directed at U.S. accredited investors; participation by non-U.S. persons is subject to additional legal restrictions and is considered on a case-by-case basis.
7.4 How to make a request
Email cooper@thelongevityangels.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will respond within the period required by applicable law (generally 45 days in the United States and one month under the GDPR), and will tell you if we need an extension.
8. Children's Privacy
The Site is open to anyone, but it is not directed to children and our forms are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Third-Party Sites
The Site links to third-party services, including Sydecar. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those services. Review their policies before providing information to them.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy here and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated to network members by email. Your continued use of the Site after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
